Voice Alignment

Voice begins before sound.

Before words.
Before technique.
Before performance.
It begins in breath, body, nervous system and presence.
This is where the work begins.

Roots

Voice reflects the whole person.

More than a century ago, Clara Schlaffhorst and Hedwig Andersen recognised something that still feels remarkably relevant today:

Voice does not exist in isolation.

It reflects the relationship between breath, body, inner experience and expression.

Their work gave rise to what is now known as the Schlaffhorst-Andersen Method — a state-recognised approach to breath, voice and speech that continues to be taught and practised today.

At its heart lies a simple understanding:

Voice cannot be separated from the person who speaks.

Creator

The story behind Voice Alignment.

Anne Wolter — Creator of the Voice Alignment Method

For more than twenty years, I have been fascinated by the relationship between breath, voice, body and human expression.

My work began with the Schlaffhorst-Andersen Method and gradually expanded through somatic practice, nervous system regulation and embodied awareness.

Over time, these elements came together in a way that felt coherent and deeply effective.

Voice Alignment emerged from that integration.

Not as another technique, but as a way of helping people reconnect with a voice that feels natural, reliable and fully their own.

Voice Alignment

Building on this foundation.

Voice Alignment builds on this foundation while integrating contemporary insights into nervous system regulation, somatic awareness and embodied presence.

Rather than focusing on voice in isolation, it works with the conditions from which voice emerges.

BreathBodyNervous SystemPresence

As these elements begin to support one another, voice often feels more natural, reliable and available.

Not correction.
Connection.

Four Pillars

Breath. Body. Nervous system. Presence.

01

Breath

Freer, three-dimensional breath — connected to the floor of the pelvis and the whole back of the body.

02

Body

Voice is a body event. Posture, fascia and the lift through the spine all carry the sound.

03

Nervous System

A regulated nervous system makes voice possible. We cultivate safety, presence and grounded readiness.

04

Presence

When breath, body and system align, presence is the natural by-product. The voice carries you.

What makes this different

Not louder. Not trained. True.

  • We create the conditions in which the voice can emerge naturally.
  • Confidence no longer has to be performed.
  • Breath, body and nervous system become allies rather than obstacles.
  • Change begins at the root and expresses itself everywhere else.

Outcome

A voice that stays with you under pressure.

Not a new voice.
Your voice — available when it matters most.
